What this is
Puchong Cafe is an independent directory covering 100 cafe businesses in Puchong, the town in Selangor, Malaysia. It exists for people who want a quick, honest way to compare cafes before they drive out or place an order: students hunting for a quiet corner with wifi, families looking for something kid-friendly, remote workers who need to know if a place gets loud at lunch, or someone just trying to figure out which spot near their taman actually pours a decent flat white.
We are not a booking platform and we do not sell ads disguised as reviews. We are a listing and ranking site built from public data, and we try to be plain about exactly how that works.
Where the information comes from
Every listing starts with public business information: name, address, opening hours, phone number, and similar basic facts. On top of that, we synthesise patterns from recent Google reviews, things like recurring mentions of slow service, standout coffee, cramped seating, or good aircon, to build a picture of what customers consistently say. We do not copy or republish review text. If you want to read the original reviews yourself, each listing links out to that cafe’s Google listing so you can see the source directly.
How ranking works
Rankings are earned, not sold. Every cafe is scored against a published rubric covering things like review consistency, service mentions, food and drink quality signals, and how current the data is. You can read the full breakdown on our /methodology/ page. Two cafes with similar star averages can land in different spots if one has more consistent, recent, positive signal than the other. There is no manual override that lets a business talk its way up the list.
Sponsorship, clearly separated
Some cafes on this site pay for visibility. When that happens, it is labelled “Sponsored” and displayed in its own section, separate from the earned ranking. Paying for a sponsored slot never changes a cafe’s score, its position in the ranked list, or the sentiment summary attached to it. We keep these two things apart on purpose, because mixing them would make the rankings worthless.
What a business can and cannot change
Owners and managers can contact us to correct factual details on their own listing: a wrong phone number, outdated hours, a moved address, a closed branch. What they cannot do is edit their own score, adjust the sentiment summary, or move their position in the rankings. That part stays tied to the data and the rubric, not to who asks.
